Instep Suburban Safari Jogging Stroller - Red, Grey - Perfect For The Active Mom
I can tell you from experience that staying fit or trying to go places with two or more children is not an easy task to accomplish. Luckily, with the help of a jogging stroller I have not had to give up my exercise routine, and going places has become easier. So if you are an active mom and need a little simplification, check out this article to see why the Instep Suburban Safari jogging stroller is perfect for you.
Why the Instep Suburban Safari jogging stroller is perfect for the active mom
Storage - Imagine trying to load your children up in a stroller but not having enough space for all of their toys, drinks, and snacks. As a parent, I know you cannot go anywhere without all three of these things. Fortunately, storage is not an issue for this stroller. It has a large basket under the seats and plenty of storage on top for keys, drinks, and cell phones.
Swivel front wheel and easy to store - If you are looking for something that is easy to maneuver and quickly folds up for easy storage, you will find it with this stroller. The front wheel has a swivel mechanism, which makes it easy to turn in tight spaces, or you can lock it in place if you prefer. Also, the entire stroller folds in half for quick and easy storage.
Reclining seats and mesh bug screen - If your children are anything like mine, a smooth ride will put them right to sleep. This is one reason the reclining seat and mesh screen come in handy. Once my children fall asleep, I recline each seat and pull the mesh bug screen down to protect them from insects. I find it refreshing to be able to spend time with my children, give them a nap, and squeeze in a workout all at the same time. You cannot ask for anything better.
I have to admit, one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with this stroller is because of the price. I did alot of research on jogging strollers before I purchased my stroller. I wanted to make sure I had a great quality stroller, but at the same time I didn't want to spend a fortune on it.

Baby Shower Gift Baskets: Perfect For Baby And Mom
Baby shower gift baskets are a great present idea to take along to the pre-birth party. They come in a range of sizes and include a good selection of items for the little one, both useful and enjoyable. Some contain set items where others allow the giver to choose from among a list of possible items they would like to include.
The types of gift included in the packages tend to be plush toys or teddy bears, as well as photo frames and hand and footprint kits. They often also contain many practical items like, body suits, hooded towels, diapers, booties and bibs. Some also have a range of toiletries like shampoo, lotion and powder.
Department stores and most specialist infant stores invariably stock a good selection of these present packages. There are also loads of online outlets that can deliver to your door, often free of charge. You could of course have it sent to a different address, such as that of the party host.
There are also other types of multi-present packages for babies, such as the diaper cake. As the name suggests, these are made of layers of diapers sculpted to look like a tiered cake. Items like those found in present baskets, such as bibs, toys and clothing are then added to the structure, making again a very practical as well as eye-catching addition to the party.
Some gift combinations have items for the infant and also mothers too. Typical gifts for soon-to-be-moms may include lovely pampering toiletries, like bath soaks, body lotions or hand creams. Other contents may be designed for mom to share with dad, like chocolates or a DVD or CD.
If you want to go for something really personal, you could make up your very own baby shower gift baskets. This way, you can choose each individual item yourself from a range of stores or outlets. If you are going to get mom something too, a personal present like a spa session or dinner for two with dad will always be well appreciated!

What are Ceramic Flat Irons?
What are Ceramic Flat Irons?
A flat iron, otherwise known as a hair straightener, is simply a tool to temporarily straighten your hair, and a ceramic flat iron is a category of flat iron that is used for safe as well as healthy hair styling results. As the name suggests, ceramic flat irons are made from a kind of non metallic mineral namely ceramic, and are regarded as a perfect option to derive amazing hair styling results. A ceramic flat iron is perhaps the most preferred hair styling tool, and is used by both beginners and professional hair stylists to try different hair styles.
Advantages of using ceramic flat irons
One of the prime benefits of flat irons with ceramic plates is that it helps for even distribution of heat across the hair. It also eliminates damaging spots and helps for efficient heat retention. However, its real highlight lies on its powerful emission of a natural source of energy in the form of far infrared rays that help to lock in hair’s natural color and moisture, apart from safeguarding your hair while styling. Further, it generates negative ions, which in turn destroys bacteria and fungi affecting hair as well as scalp. In deed, the usage of ceramic flat irons promotes for frizz free, soft, gorgeous, safe, and sophisticated hair styling results.
Different types of ceramic flat irons
A variety of flat irons is now available in the market to suit your individual needs such as wet to dry flat irons and travel sized or mini flat irons. There are also ceramic flat irons to match your hair texture and type. For instance, there are ceramic flat irons that are exclusively designed for African American hair. In order to ensure its superb performance, some high end ceramic flat irons may also contain in it properties of materials such as titanium and tourmaline. Ceramic flat irons with nano silver compounds are also popular nowadays.
Features of ceramic flat irons
Majority of ceramic flat irons now available in the market are attached with a continuum of features. In addition to 100% ceramic plates or tourmaline infused ceramic plates, a ceramic flat iron mostly contains in it such top end features as ultra powerful heaters, fast heating elements that enables for fast heat up and that too within seconds, digital controls that help to monitor and control heat settings according to your personal preference and that too with a simple touch of your finger, easy to use lightweight profile, adjustable heat settings, 360 degree swivel cord to prevent tangling, and dual voltage system for its worldwide usage.
Top Ceramic Flat Irons

Baby Snapping Turtles: What You Should Know Before Getting One
Are you thinking of getting a baby snapping turtle? You may have seen one at a local pet store. It is also common for people to pick some of these turtles up from their backyards or surrounding areas. You may think it would be nice to keep the cute babies as pets. You should know though that there is a lot to keeping a snapping turtle as a pet. You should consider keeping them only if you are capable of doing so. Here's what you should know about snapping turtle pets.
Baby Snapping Turtle Growth and Size
The most common mistake of potential pet owners is that they think snappers stay cute. They are later surprised to learn that snapping turtles can become very large. On average, these turtles can grow up to 8-16 inches. There have been some however that have reached more or less 20 inches. Their average weight is 30 lbs. but some can reach to double the average weight. These turtles grow fast. From a mere 2 inches as babies, they can grow to their full minimum average length in two years.
It is when the turtles are at their maximum growth that they become difficult to take care of. Pet owners become even more alarmed when they find out that these turtles can live for very long. From the moment they are born, snapping turtles can live for four decades more. Unprepared pet owners eventually realize that they got more than they bargained for. They may therefore abandon their pets, leave them in zoos or put them up for adoption.
Baby Snapping Turtle Habitat
The maximum growth capacity of a baby snapping turtle is not your only concern. You also need to think about where it is going to live. In the beginning, your baby turtle may be comfortable with just a ten-gallon tank. You then have to add ten gallons for every inch that your turtle grows. You may have to prepare a hundred gallon tank.
Snapping turtles also can't be house trained like dogs and cats. Although they are enclosed in an aquarium or pond, they can quickly make their environment dirty. Aside from the large volumes of waste that they excrete, they also have the tendency to churn up their habitat bottoms. They can also muddle up the decorations and items that you have set up in the aquarium. This means that you will have to constantly monitor and clean their environment.
Baby Snapping Turtle Temperament
Snapping turtles are generally mild mannered when in their natural water environment. When the occasion calls for it though, they can bite people and eat other animals. They could also hiss and take an aggressive stance. A snapping turtle pet is capable of doing the same thing. It could bite you or other animals around it, including other snapping turtles. This means you may have to take the extra effort to provide a completely separate home for your snapping turtle.
These are only some of the basic considerations when taking care of a snapping turtle. It is already obvious however, based on these points alone that it is no joke to decide to take in a baby snapping turtle. Do think your decision over a couple of times. You certainly want to provide a clean and happy home for your turtle.

How expensive are cards nowadays? Just to buy a simple pretty card for someone can cost you $3 - $5 and for more elaborate ones I've seen them for $7 - $9 and up. As pretty as they may be that's insane paying that much for a pretty piece of paper haha! Firstly there's the present to buy (or make I should say!) and then the card. As precious as it is to give someone something special that they really want, our budgets don't always go that far so even saving a few dollars here and there on the prices of a card and wrapping paper adds up. I've got a friend who had a great idea, she bought a large roll of plain paper (like the paper fish and chips are wrapped in) and she gets her kids to dip their hands in paint and make handprints all over the paper. It was very cheap to buy and what a beautiful touch for grandparents etc receiving a lovely gift in hand printed paper from their own grandkids.
So what if I told you that you can make the most spectacular looking cards for a fraction of the cost of retail cards? Either just for yourself to give away or you could sell them. Cards are nice and small and light to post if selling them on a website and/or easy to carry in your car and set up a display at a local market. Remembering the wind haha! You may need a display folder or rack to display them in.
Some of the big retail shops have the most beautiful embellishments and card accessories to design your cards but again they're not all that cheap. Often you can come across all sorts of pretty things you can use for card making at your cheap $2 shops, second hand shops, wholesale websites and even lying around your home. A simple idea such as sewing a couple of old buttons on to a scrap piece of ribbon with pretty thread can be all you need to make your card stand out.
If you wanted to sell your cards, just a couple of rules to remember are: Is there any insurance you need such as public liability? I'm not too sure what damage someone could do with a card but you just don't know, a child could choke on an embellishment, someone could poke themselves it the eye so it pays just to double check. Also I'm pretty sure that you are not allowed to use anything with a brand name on it for commercial use. What information do you need to display on your cards, such as contact info on the back? (A small business centre/local government website should be able to help you with this).
Card making, similar to scrap booking, uses things like ribbons, rubber stamps, card stock, inks, cutters/scissors, glue, glitters, embossing powder, embellishments, eyelets and the list goes on. You don't need all of this though at the same time, cards that are simple can look just as pretty as cards that have just too much stuff on them. Again most of these items can be found at less than retail prices if you shop around. For example a local craft shop sells bundles of card stock which works out to about a $1 per sheet, where as the local office supply ware house sells bundles that work out to about 60c per sheet. Again using a business tax number it would probably be cheaper again and/or buying in bulk. You could also make your own envelopes to suit your cards with a similar colour, picture on etc or buy plain ones in bundles. (Card stock is a thin piece of cardboard suitable to fold etc that will stand a little more rigid than a piece of paper).
Think of all of the Special Occasions where cards are given. Christmas, Birthday's, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Get Well Soon, Congratulations On Your Baby Boy/Girl, Happy Anniversary and many more. In your area there may be a special celebration that you could cash in on by making cards to suit. Without going too crazy though and having boxes of cards sitting there for a year!
You need to do your homework and figure out a rough cost on making your cards and then price them accordingly. When I say rough for example, you may buy five different ink pads at $5 each and those ink pads may last for a hundred cards or more or less. So spending the $25 may be spread over quite a few cards. With clever planning and hunting around for the best bargains you could quite easily find supplies for a good price, make fantastic and pretty looking cards which didn't cost much to make and sell them for a good profit. You could still be far cheaper than the retail prices of cards and people would probably really appreciate being able to buy beautiful cards and still have change in their pockets haha!
What if you don't have the neatest of writing to write on your cards? What if you can't draw to save your life so you can't have pretty pictures on your cards? This is where rubber stamps are great. Again you can pick them up quite cheap if you hunt around. There are millions of different designs of pictures and sayings that it's as easy as dabbing them onto the ink pad and stamping them onto your card. It does pay to practice a little first to make sure you have even coverage of the ink on your stamp and you lift your stamp back off the card straight up so the ink doesn't smudge.
Also there are many great designs of cards using different cuts and folds. With a little knowledge and/or your imagination the limits are endless as to what you can make. To get started you could grab some craft magazines and books pertaining to card making but the best way I've found is online tutorials. You have a person right in front of you teaching you with measurements etc how to fold and cut card stock into some fantastic designs. Even just using one method in different colours and patterns could give you a great wide selection of cards to start selling quite quickly. You could key in "card making video" into your browser and go from there. Some stunning looking cards are actually very simple and quick to make.
Another great place to sell your cards is at local gift shops especially hospital cafes/gift shops. Some hospitals have quite strict rules nowadays about fresh flowers due to allergies so a beautiful handmade card could make a good replacement. Local newsagencies are also a great place and it doesn't hurt to ask. Remember, as always, to account for your fuel and time costs. You could incorporate it into your shopping days to do drop offs and hopefully pick up your earnings along the way. Another idea would be to take orders for personalized cards, either advertising on your website or you could have stickers made up with your details stating you make cards to order and stick it on the back of your cards. You could use an alphabet stencil and write someone's name in pretty glitter or embossing powder to add than personal touch. Say an 18th or 21st Birthday card would make a lovely keepsake. Someone could say it's their son's Birthday and he'd love a football themed card. It's a very individual thing to know your own time you have and what effort you want to put in to do personal orders.
Card making is fairly cheap to start, you don't need too many fancy tools, they don't take up much room, they can be very quick and easy to make, millions get sold every year and they can be great fun to make and experiment with different ideas. Unlike sewing etc where you may ruin an expensive piece of material, it doesn't really matter if you make the odd mistake on your cards. You can just put that card aside to use for scrap paper for cut outs etc and just start again without stressing about cost and the time you've put into it.
As always it pays to do your homework first to find out how well cards sell where you want to sell them and at what cost. There's no point making beautiful cards and putting a price ticket of $5 dollars on them when the person next door at the markets sells them for $4! Also make a few sample cards first and test the waters. There would be no point making 100 cards to sell at the local hospital to find out they don't really sell because everybody stops at the shop just outside the hospital first. Then you could go and see that shop keeper too, of course!
Hope this has given you some good ideas of how to/ get started in card making and selling them.

Okay, He's a Raven's Fan
Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut. Taxis. FedEx. UPS. Couriers. Just what do these important things have in common? They publicize on their cars. Some have painted trademarks on the doors, some benefit from signs on top of their automobiles. But regardless of which approach they work with, we appreciate quickly what exactly they are.
As we go from a one car family to everyone has one families, there are more cars on the road. Advertisers are aware of this and are jumping on the bandwagon, another type of vehicle, to capitalize on it. Whomever designed the first car topper for a pizza delivery operation was a genius. Your neighbor watches hungrily as you stand at the door and receive your pizza and calls for a delivery. The taxi takes you to the airport so you can go on vacation and someone sees and calls a cab for reasons of their own. FedEx delivers something to you, prompting someone else to use FedEx for their corporate sector. Cars have quickly become an advertising arena.
Enter Garfield. Remember when a furry attitude problem was blowing from someone's car window on suctioned feet? You had to have one, too. Remember the Baby On Board sign craze? You got one, too. Winnie the Pooh now shades our infants from the sun in their car seats or perhaps the logo design reads BabyFirst or Babies R Us. Whomever uses his car to get your attention, he's using promotional gear like sunshades for infants, prompting you to shop at that store. Baby On Board? You had to shop at a store to find a sign like that. Garfield? How many Garfield coffee cups and welcome mats do you own because you saw that stuffed tail blowing in the wind?
You're sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the way to work and to pass the time you check out everyone's bumper stickers. Some are rude, some funny, others inspirational, and some advertise a product, service or store. As a result, you, too, go to JiffyLube to get an oil change or Mr. Tire to get tires for your car. Churches even use this method of advertising because they know you spend a good deal of time in your car. Are you a fisherman? A bumper sticker will tell you where to go for the best night crawlers and lures.

You may also consider creating a baby gift basket for the baby. Baby gift baskets are very famous gifts that can be created by oneself. Since you are opting for a unique present, you have to make use of your creativity and imagination and put extra thought to the gift. A unique baby gift basket can be created by thinking beyond traditional ideas. For example, instead of using a wicker basket, you may consider other containers that can hold the baby items that you want to tuck in. Some popular items that are often in baby gift baskets are infant clothes, diapers, baby bottles, rattles, bath supplies, burp clothes, and other useful baby items and accessories.
Another way to create a unique baby gift is to add personalized cards, labels, and other decorating ideas. It will always be sentimental when your recipient gets to read your heart-felt greetings or warm message. Especially for a mom-to-be who invited you to her baby shower, she will know that you care for her and her baby through your message printed on the card. Aside from the present itself, a few personal touches on the package also make thoughtful meaning to the expectant mom. Personalized cards and labels can be made at home using your computer and printer, or you can hand-write them.

Some babies would spend their entire first year in the bath if they were allowed; others treat the bath as if it is a pot of boiling oil! Interesting and age-appropriate baby toys for the bath can make the difference between a happy, positive and relaxing time of day and a stressful and scream-filled one. Today we check out 8 awesome baby toys made just for bathtime!
1. Bath books
For wee ones who love to wallow in a nice warm bath, baby toys like bath books are a great option for bathtime. They are also a lot more relaxing than other splash- or action-oriented bath baby toys, which can sometimes wind kids up before bed.
2. Bath stacking cups
You can use these from birth, to pour water over your little one, and as they get older they can be used for their intended purpose of stacking! Most ordinary stackable toys aren't bath-suitable, as they aren't heavy enough.
3. Waterslides
Just the miniature-sized version ... I'm not suggesting you take your baby to the waterslide park every time they need a wash! Miniature baby toy waterslides have the action, the noise and the colours to distract kids who dislike bathing.
4. Hoops and balls
These are more for older babies and toddlers, but hoops and balls can be a very entertaining bathtime game! If your baby or toddler has older siblings to show them how to use it, this bath baby toy will be a great learning experience.
5. Squirters
Squirters have been around since your baby's grandparents' time - they're a simple and very fun bath toy that will most likely never go out of fashion. You'll have to keep an eye on toddlers that can wrangle a squirter by themselves to make sure that your bathwater stays within the boundaries of the tub, though!
6. Rubber duckies and floating toys
There's so much imaginative play waiting to be invented with rubber duckies, boats, sharks and other floating baby toys for the bath. Young babies won't play with them by themselves, but once they can sit up and do some grasping they're a great way for you to get involved with your baby's bathtime play.
7. Mountable mirrors
It isn't always worth getting a separate mirror for your bath, but if you're buying a mirrored baby toy anyway look for one that is water-safe. Mirrors are one of the few baby toys for the bath that younger kids will get some value out of as well.
8. Bath organiser for baby toys
Okay - this one's cheating a little, as your baby really won't care a fig about the organiser! However, these net bags with silicone suction cups are invaluable for keeping bath toys tidy and organised, and off the floor. And then you are much less likely to remove all toys from the bathroom in frustration at having to constantly kick them out of the way! That's a bonus and a good buy for both your baby and you.

Luxury baby bedding is the perfect way to lavish your baby with comfort for a very good reason. The bedding is quite important because it is in contact with your infant most of the time. We all know how little tots like to sleep all the time in their crib. You can make their sleeping experience even more special by lining their little beds with posh beddings made of the finest materials.
You should be prepared when your bundle of joy arrives into your home and have the perfect sleeping area for him or her, their bed. If you know your baby’s gender in advance, you can start buying posh beddings for your baby already.
You can break down your search for the perfect bedding for your little one into two categories, the bassinet and the cradle.
The Bassinet
The bassinet is the first piece of sleeping furniture that you will purchase for your little one. It is perfect for newborn infants. You don’t want your child to sleep in bed with you because that is too dangerous for your baby. Having a baby in the room also means that there will be no sleep for you and your husband alike.
Since your baby is the only person who will be staring into the insides of the bassinet almost all day and all night long, it should have a stimulating color that will help develop their eyesight. You have to realize that it is the first the baby will see when they first open their eyes. So it also should not be too stimulating. It is best to find a good color combination that will not overwhelm the little tyke.
The baby’s skin is very smooth and delicate so it should only be in contact with material that will not harm your baby’s skin.
The Cradle
This is the next piece of furniture that your baby will sleep on. Once the child can get up on their own or is more than 20 pounds in weight, it is time to replace the bassinet with the cradle.
Cradles are more open than bassinets so you should consider the design of the inside more. It should be able to correspond with the theme of the nursery of the baby because that is where the cradle will be situated all the time. Unlike the bassinet, you cannot easily move the cradle around. The nursery is its home.
The Bedding
Choose baby bedding that is very easy to wash because you’ll never know if your baby might have a potty accident without a diaper on. And remember that just because you will be changing the bedding often does not mean that they should not be stylish. The bedding will be surrounding the baby and you want it to look posh and lavish.
To make life easier for you, purchase cradle beddings that come in sets. These sets come complete with the sheet itself, cradle bumpers for the protection of your little one and maybe even a very cozy down comforter just big enough for you little bundle of joy.

This is by far one of the most common questions I get from parents: Will teaching my baby to sign delay his speech?
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) I love to answer this question! A good deal of research has been done to address this and has shown us that babies who sign do not have an increased risk of delayed speech/language. In fact, research indicates that many babies who sign actually go on to have early, advanced speech. Let's take a look at why this is so: 1) SIGNING IS NATURAL - If you think about it, babies learn naturally to gesture. They throw their hands up in the air to indicate "up", they clap to indicate "I like that!", they point to express "I want that". Signing with a baby expands on this already present intuitive means of early communication. 2) SIGNS ARE A BRIDGE TO SPEECH - Much like crawling is to walking, gesturing/signing is to speech. Crawling is a natural first step enabling a baby to explore her world before she is ready to walk. Signing empowers your child to communicate before she is ready to talk. Babies don't decide to forgo walking because they already have a method of moving around -- when their bodies are ready, they will walk! A point in time comes when walking is easier and more effective than crawling. The same is true for signing and speech. Ultimately when your baby is ready, speech will be easier and more effective than signing. Just as babies gradually move from crawling to walking, signing babies eventually transition from signing to speaking. 3) SIGNING READIES A BABY FOR SPEAKING - Oh how I love to think about, write about, chat about the many ways signing prepares a baby for speaking. Signing families are very focused on communicating and thus spend a great deal of time in face-to-face, language-rich interactions with baby. As parents are teaching their baby signs, they use lots of repetition of both the signs AND the spoken words (speaking & signing should happen simultaneously). They talk about the objects they are signing about, and repeatedly show these objects to baby, demonstrating how those objects are used to keep the baby's interest. All this practice with language and words results in signing babies having broad receptive vocabulary knowledge. The rest is like dominoes: The earlier a child understands a sign the sooner he can use the sign, the more signs he uses the more words he can speak when his little mouth, tongue and lips are ready! It also should be said that signing babies have the advantage of participating in give-and-take conversations much earlier than babies who don't sign. This too readies a child for spoken communication. All of these things come together to lay the foundation for speech. It's like all of the pieces are ready and waiting and as soon as a baby is able, speech will take off!
Certainly there are times when even a signing toddler has delayed speech. But it's NOT likely the signing that has caused this. In fact, for the reasons stated above, one of the first things a SLP will do with a child who is late to talk is teach them to sign! And for those families who do have a child with delayed speech, I encourage you to think about the ultimate goal of signing and speech: COMMUNICATION. I can assure you that many a family with a late-talking, signing child has thanked their lucky stars that their child could express himself in some way, alleviating so much frustration from breakdowns in communication.
Ultimately, signing will NOT cause your baby to have delayed speech. It WILL be one of the best things you do to help prepare your baby for talking!

Is The Vacuum Cleaner Just Enough For Your Carpet?
The environment inside your house can become ten times dirtier than that of outside your house. The main reason for having unclean atmosphere inside your house is your dirty carpet. As far as you don’t pay attention towards the proper cleaning of your carpet you won’t be able to get a germs free atmosphere in your home. Dirty carpet is actually an ideal place of breeding the germs and bacteria. Many people don’t even consider this fact but it is true and the unhygienic condition of your carpet can cause your and your little babies severe diseases. According to the medical experts dusts can also cause allergies. Therefore you have to make it sure that your carpet is clean and free of all types of dirt and bacteria.
Some people do the vacuum cleaning of their carpets regularly and get satisfied that they have done their duty of cleaning their carpets properly. But they are unaware of the fact that just vacuum cleaner is not enough for ensuring a hygienic carpet. Though it is a useful machine for cleaning carpet, still you need to acquire the services of professional carpet cleaners to ensure a dirt and dust free carpet. The vacuum is just meant to clear the surface dust, however it does not remove the dirt that is embedded in your carpet. The main benefit of acquiring their services is that you can successfully prevent the germs and bacteria to increase and hence keep yourself safe from many diseases and allergies. 3 Baby Swimwear Items - How To Protect Baby In The Pool
Summer is fun for you and your baby, so you need modern baby swimwear. Health professional and doctors recommend swimming for babies from one month onwards. There is no need to wait for what was thought of in the past, that baby needs to have their two month immunisations first. The earlier a baby is introduced to the swimming pool, is conducive to teaching them how to swim early on in age. Baby needs to be appropriately dressed in swimwear.
It is difficult to find swimwear for a baby under three months old as manufacturers usually cater for sizes from three months to twelve months in baby swimwear. This is because babies who are younger are better without swimwear. For babies who are older and for toddlers you can find a wide choice of swimwear in many shops.
1. Baby Swim Nappies
As babies wear nappies, the main concern for parents once was in case their child has an "accident" in the water. Chlorine in pools can combat such problems so it is not really an issue now, though to face an embarrassment parents thought it better not to bring babies into the pool as it was difficult to know what to do if any solid waste was deposited in the water. The design of the baby swim nappies now gives parents the confidence to bring their babies swimming, without any fear of any accidents.
The nappies are specially designed with cotton cloth that is lined with polyurethane. This makes it machine washable and so they can be dried, which is the perfect answer for any parent concerned about their baby relieving themself in such a public place, in the pool. These swim nappies cost from $10-15 are can be bought at many stores and retailers online.
2. Flotation Aids
For children to learn to swim there are many aids available and one of them are "water Wings" which slide over the arms, keeping a child afloat so that they are free to splash around. They can also play freely in the pool, but unfortunately, are unsuitable for the under 1 year olds. For the younger babies there are specially designed flotation devices, as it is generally recommended that they stay with their parents at all times, although swimming classes can start at 12 weeks of age for babies.
3. Swimming Trunks and Swimsuits
You can find baby swimwear in many styles, including the full body tanks and the trunks as worn by children who are older and adults. You can buy one or two piece swimsuits for girls. Most importantly, you should remember that baby's skin needs proper sunscreen as they are very sensitive so should be well protected at all times, especially in the pool. Sunburn can get nasty so waterproof sun protection is required.

A GREAT DEAL of prominent glad-handing recently went down at the Guthrie Theater as artistic director Joe Dowling announced--along with his organization's new season--its May collaboration with Penumbra Theatre Company on August Wilson's Fences. In the process, handwriting which has developed largely unnoticed materialized on the wall in stark black and white.
To finance the gala Guthrie production of Fences (originally scheduled at Penumbra), the Penumbra production of Cheryl L. West's Jar The Floor is postponed to the 1997-98 season. When A Raisin In The Sun closes March 9th, theater will cease to exist at Penumbra until the fall. What's happening here is that the Penumbra is rapidly moving away from its home ground, and one day may very well be gone. Founder/artistic director Lou Bellamy is not selling out, nor is Dowling committing some dastardly deed of appropriation. The problem is that black people simply refuse to spend money to see shows at Penumbra. Ever self-congratulatory, indignantly woofing to whites about the importance of "our cultural resources," the Twin Cities black community, in reality, fails to support theater in its own backyard, and is tossing that cultural resource up for grabs. They can blame no one but themselves should the day come that the only place to see black plays in the Twin Cities is at the resource-shy Pillsbury House or at white-run theaters. The rationalization that there are not enough black patrons in Minneapolis and St. Paul to support black theater does not hold water.
Just over a year ago, when a company all but completely comprised of Penumbra actors did Big White Fog at the Guthrie, black faces truly turned out in force. Night after night of the run, black crowds converged, posturing and preening in the lobby with their chests swelled, eager to see and be seen strutting about the great white premises before ceremoniously taking their seats. Why are these patrons' wallets habitually closed to Penumbra productions, where prices are generally much lower than the Guthrie's? Where are the fashionably culture-conscious when Penumbra needs them in its lobby? Why, unless black theater comes in gilded trappings with a seal of white approval, does the primarily intended audience leave it for someone else to go see? I offer that it's because far too many blacks enthusiastically endorse a legacy of self-loathing which dictates that anything we can do, white folks will do better. Fences at the Guthrie couldn't happen, one must acknowledge, without the blessing of Penumbra company member and author August Wilson. More's the travesty. Do you think Wilson would have let his play move one inch from Penumbra's stage if hordes watering at the mouth to see it at the Guthrie could be counted on to attend it at Penumbra? Especially with the uproar he's raised about the dire need to have black-produced theater available to black people? (See Henry Louis Gates' piece on Wilson in the February 3 issue of The New Yorker for more on this.)
Had the thought crossed Wilson's mind, imagining the ensuing protest would've blocked that thought out. There will, of course, be no outcry from the community, from the Urban League, from the NAACP or anybody else--unless it's for front-row Guthrie seats. That 1996 marked Penumbra's 20th anniversary season puts the situation perfectly in perspective. Bellamy established PTC two decades ago as a venue where black Americans could see the black experience told within our cultural context, in our community. It was started so that we wouldn't have to depend on white theaters to acknowledge us by doing the occasional black play. All these years later, the season ostensibly celebrating Penumbra's significance has been ignominiously dismantled. One play has been struck. Another is relocated. Money is tight, and the predominantly white Penumbra audience can't keep the doors open by themselves. The anniversary schedule belongs where this institution began, not chopped up and jerry-rigged, part to be seen some other day, part to be staged about as far from the black community as one can get. Penumbra, a nationally renowned theater, stands on shaky ground, and if things don't change, Bellamy and associates will quite probably move, setting up shop where they can count on customers to faithfully come. If Fences proves profitable, as did Big White Fog, why shouldn't Dowling parcel out production space on a regular basis? Why shouldn't Penumbra cut their losses and take him up on it? All God's chillun gotta eat.
Penumbra has not yet given up on black people, but remains committed to giving Twin Cities soul folk the message: theater can survive and, by rights, should prevail beyond the province of Caucasians. If they continue stubbornly refusing to hear, the voice can't help but fall silent. And there blacks will be, a day late and a dollar short, whining and crying. Or maybe not. Maybe they won't even notice their loss, because they're too busy breaking their necks to enjoy the white world's gain.
