How to Give a Baby a Bath in a Puj Tub

Things you'll need

1. First of all, you'll need your Puj Tub. For those who aren't aware, this a new baby bath tub that's made from a soft plastic that folds to make a cozy little seat for young babies and infants that is perfectly sized to fit into bathroom sinks.
2. Baby soft body wash or shampoo. My personal favorite here, is Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash by Burt's Bees.
3. Small pitcher or glass of water. The water temperature should be about the same temperature as your body, which is about 98 degrees. There are a variety of thermometer available on the web, and some are shaped like ducks or boats to second as a baby toy. Here's the one that I bought, Safety Bath Thermometer Alarm, which has an alarm built-in. The alarm comes in handy in my house because it's old and the water can change temperature very easily with our old pipes.
4. Hooded baby towel. The hooded part isn't strictly necessary, but a baby's head is where most of their heat is lost. So, the hood will keep them nice and toasty. These are widely available on the Internet.
5. Wash Cloth. Wash cloths for babies generally come in two sizes, infants and toddlers. I generally get a toddler wash cloth because I like to drape it over the baby like a blanket to keep them nice and warm.

 

Giving your baby a bath

1. Snap your Puj Tub together from the flat position. This can usually be done with one hand by applying pressure on the bottom edge to the tub. If you press straight down the tub will collapse at the creases and snap into place to form the seat.
2. Place the tub into the sink. The Puj Tub is designed to fit a bathroom sink, so if your sink is not a typical sink, and is very wide oddly shaped then it may not fit correctly. The tub should be able to fit into the sink with the top edge coming up and above the basin.
3. Place your baby into the tub. Your baby should fit nice a snugly into the tub. The material doesn't transfer heat, like a metal or hard plastic tub, so it will feel warm to their skin.
4. Wet the baby. Depending on the baby's age, you might pour the water from the pitcher onto them, or if they are very young you can dip the wash cloth into the water and then sponge it onto the baby. With my babies, as I said before, I like to drape the wash cloth onto their belly and chest, and then pour the water onto the cloth. The warm water feels great to them and keeps them warm.
5. Apply soap. Apply a mild baby soap to their body. Use caution with and around their head, and only apply soap to the head, at most, every few days. They soap can dry out their delicate skin which can cause irritation.
6. Rinse. Start with the head and use a clean wet wash cloth to rinse off the soap. You can rinse their body by pouring water from the pitcher, or by using a fresh wash cloth and clean water.
7. Dry baby. Use your hooded baby towel to dry and keep your baby warm.

Never microwave a bottle of formula, as microwaving bottles can lead to uneven heating and possibly burn baby's mouth. 4. Bath

A baby must never be farther than arms reach while bathing and must be constantly supervised. Set your house's water heater to 120 degrees or less to prevent scalding, or install an anti-scald device. It is a good idea to get your towels, diapers, and other supplies ready before bath time.

5. Used Baby Equipment

Second-hand baby equipment is less expensive or even free, but it can also be dangerous. Check the Consumer Product Safety Commission to be sure your used car seat, stroller, crib, or toys have not been recalled. Toys that are several decades old may contain lead paint and should be avoided. When it comes to car seats, never buy a used seat if you don't know its history. It may be unreliable if it has been in a crash. Don't by a seat that is more than 6 years old, doesn't have an instruction manual, or is missing parts. My Personal Review On Fisher-Price Rainforest Deluxe High Chair

Excellent quality and a quality product ... Fisher-Price has done it again with its forest of high-class president! It is a quality product and offers excellent value in terms of its duration and usefulness.

My daughter bought this chair after trying one by Graco and it is inappropriate for your child. Unlike the Graco, the back of the Fisher-Price Rainforest Deluxe High Chair is not so high as to disturb the children using the chair. The large tray is easy to apply and remove, the toy includes a nice extra that can be used to entertain your little one as they prepare their food. The color scheme in the dining resources to small - yes, a little bright, but then the team is usually baby. The chair is easy to move. The plastic is easy to clean, the pipeline appears to be a nylon, parachute-type fabric and is also easy to clean. Birthday cake for my first grandchild was shaped like a bee and ice cream covered in yellow and glossy black. As children a year are prone to do, he made an absolute mess of their cake. The black glaze pipe cleaned easily and will not stain.

The two drawbacks of this chair are juvenile. If the weather is warm, covered with plastic chair can cause your little one to sweat a little. I had considered the cushion of the chair and its use as a pattern to make a quilt out covered in plastic. However, the need to remove and wash it every day was enough to discourage that idea. Instead, he took a bath towel, low cost and create a pocket that fit over the back of the chair. Then leave the rest of the towel fall back between the shoulder harness, and seat. Antique German Dolls – a Little Bit of History

From the 1840’s through until the early 1920’s, some of the most beautiful dolls ever created, were produced in Germany.

The earliest dolls, often referred to as Parian (meaning untinted bisque) were created in famous pottery factories in Copenhagen and in Dresden. These dolls had beautifully delicate molded features, including not only their faces, but their hair as well, often with molded ribbons, bows, snood, flowers and sometimes a collar. Delicate exacting colorations made every one of these dolls a work of art. These dolls are rare and valuable.

Their popularity peaked around the end of the 1870’s and can be dated by their hairstyles. Parian Bisque led to the more common China Head Dolls. These dolls were mass produced, and have a shiny glaze finish over the plain untinted bisque. These dolls ranged in size from tiny 1” tall frozen charlotte type dolls to large as 24”. These dolls were most popular between 1860 and 1900, as a cheaper alternative to the latest doll craze, that of tinted unglazed bisque that was becoming more and more popular and available. In the early 1890’s the German doll manufacturers began mass producing many lovely quality dolls that began to rival the quality of the French dolls.

Dolls began to be modelled after real children. Emotions and expressions became visible. The famous period of the “dolly type” face was born.

These beautiful dolly face dolls traditionally had “sleep eyes” made to open and close, set into the head carefully with plaster. The eyes were hand blown glass. They also have open mouths, usually showing 4 upper teeth. Fine mohair wigs, or human hair wigs were also used on these dolls. The heads were attached to sophisticated ball joint bodies.

Many of these dolly face dolls were produced in small cottage industry circumstances, and the maker of many remains unknown. The more famous German doll manufacturers such as Heinrich Handwerck, Heuback-Kopplesdorf, Kammer and Reinhard, J.D.Kestner, Armand Marseille and Simon and Halbig, clearly placed their hallmark, and doll mold numbers onto the back of the doll’s neck, making it possible to date, value and appraise many of their dolls.

One of the most famous dolls of all to come out of this period was the “Bye-Lo” baby doll. It is documented that the artist, Grace Storey Putnam searched hospital nurseries in the early 1920’s looking for just the right tiny model for this doll. The Bye-Lo baby was followed by “My Dream Baby”.

The value placed on Antique German Dolls, is based on their rarity, on the quality in craftsmanship of a particular doll, the condition of the doll, and by how much of the doll remains in original condition. This will include such factors as repairs to the head or body, replaced eyes or wig, and many other factors.

Antique German dolls continue to appreciate in value. The quality and talent put into every doll made is appreciated more and more by collectors of antique dolls as the years go by.
