Does anyone have a baby that will only sleep if reclined (ie on a car seat, hammock, etc)?

My baby will only sleep if he feels a womb-like environment. He doesn't like to be flat on his bassinet. Even if I use pillows to prop up the legs of the bassinet, he doesn't like it as much as his car seat. I try to let him fall asleep on car seat and wait for deep sleep to put him in his bassinet. I've tried swaddling also but that only worked his first few days. Babies catch on pretty quickly and he only want to be in car seat or in someone's arms. If he isn't, then he cries and cries and cries. What have you done? Do you also alternate?

My baby didn't like being on her back. She slept between baby wedges (positioners) that kept her safely on her side. You can also try prewarming the sheets with a hot water bottle or heating pad (just remove before you put him down). Is it possible he has reflux? That could be a reason he doesn't like being flat.

I started at a corporate pole dance studio chain and stuck with it until I learned every move that studio had to teach. After 6 months or so I figured I had mastered the pole, but I was hugely mistaken. Like many other pole addicts, I started watching pole videos on you tube and teaching myself. At that point I was learning about smaller studios in my area and I branched out into a whole new world of tricks, spins, bruised thighs, and acrobatic floor work. Learning from advanced dancers from different studios helped me progress at a much faster rate.

I’ve been teaching now for over a year and in the past few months alone I’ve witnessed the pole dance community undergo a rapid evolution. Not only have dancers been uniting through competitions and workshops, but the level of difficulty has also been progressing very fast. A good dancer is able to create unique moves and variations of existing tricks. With champions like Felix Cane and Jenyne Butterfly creating signature moves, dancers all over are striving to accomplish the same. Pole dancing is all about thinking outside the box and making the impossible possible. The creative outlet that pole dancing provides is truly invaluable. There are always new moves to learn and create and I’m excited each time I step in the studio to refine my craft.

And the pole dance clothing is adorable!

What're the seating options in the post-Bumbo/bouncer period?

Baby is six months; baby is arching her back a lot, about to fly out the back of the Bumbo, getting fussed about being in the 'baby papasan,' getting plain too big for the bouncers...

Where does baby go when Mum needs to bathe or cook hot food, now? I realise there is some LOLZ to be had at the idea that a mobile baby will sit anywhere for long, but... What works in your house after the bouncy chairs are retired?
Forgot: we have an Exersaucer. We also have three floors...hrm.

When my daughter was in the in-between can't sit alone stage, but to big for her bouncy chair (which she broke bouncing) I went to walmart and bought this chair...

It is big enough for her now and is also a toddler chair.
I would sit her in that surrounded by toys when I had a shower, as for cooking we use a high chair.
Also I would place her in the corner of the playpen so she could not fall backwards and that would give me some time to clean and whatnot.
Now she is able to sit very well on her own and we rarely use the chair. I just plop her down wherever now...

Is the Bugaboo Chameleon Stroller the Rolls Royce of Strollers?

So what’s all the fuzz about the Bugaboo Chameleon stroller, is it any good or just a celebrity hyped device used by stars like Gwen Stephani, Gwyneth Paltrow or Geri Halliwell?

The Chameleon is a new and improved version of the bugaboo Frog model. It’s meant to appeal to the active parent who wants to get around everywhere, whether it’s the subway, pram, woods, sandy beach or whatever terrain you want to get through.

The prize tag is at least something that can be a bit breath taking at first, but the question is, is it worth it?

Well, the parents who use it swear by it, because of its light weight, but still stable, and the ability to use it everywhere. The seat and bassinet is reversible, so when the baby grows and wants to look around instead of facing you, it’s easy to turn around in one grip. And, it really does have some very inventive features, and it’s obvious that the designers of the chameleon are active parents themselves who developed a stroller they would want themselves.

One thing that’s never been seen on another stroller before its the ability to put the seat up and down vertically, so that the baby can sit at a table-high position and join you at the table in café for example, or just if you want to have a comfortable position when feeding your baby outside sitting on a bench or similar.

The swivel like wheels make the chameleon bugaboo stroller very easy to manoeuvre, you don’t have to push the handle down to get the front wheels up when turning, this is very handy, and after using a stroller like that it feels really uncomfortable to drive the “normal” stroller with fixed wheels.

Some useful tips on how to use the chameleon bugaboo further:

- The Carrycot is approved for use for overnight sleeping, good if you are on a trip.

- The Pushchair seat can be used as a seat on the floor or the ground as well.

- The handle bar is height adjustable.

-The under seat bag is bigger then before; good for shopping or storage.

-When the stroller is folded it takes up minimum space, it fits easily even in the smallest car.

-The seat frame is 2 inches longer so will accommodate a longer baby and taller child.

So is this really the Rolls Royce of stroller some claim it to be? Yes, probably, a bit costly indeed, but should be looked upon as an investment, because with it’s high quality construction you can use it for as long as you need to have your child in a stroller or pram.
