The launch of the new BMW 7-Series completes the line-up of the entire BMW range now being equipped with EfficientDynamics technologies fitted as standard. With its roof, doors, bonnet and side panels all made from aluminium to dovetail with the principle of lightweight engineering, the BMW 7-Series also has other innovative class-leading technology which improves engine performance, while cutting fuel consumption and emissions.

Brake Energy Regeneration uses the engine's power on overrun, such as braking, to charge the battery for the car's electrical circuit. When the driver is accelerating the alternator disengages so all of the engine's power is channelled towards the car's performance. Other ancillaries, such as the air-conditioning compressor, are also able to disengage to improve the all round performance of the car. This intelligent use of drivetrain power is why EfficientDynamics technology has helped the BMW 7-Series become a class-leader in terms of performance, fuel consumption and emissions.

World firsts

The BMW 7-Series' drivetrain superiority is reinforced with a plethora of automotive firsts. All BMW 7-Series can now be specified with the world's first Head-up Display incorporating a speed limit warning system. A camera mounted on the back of the rear view mirror scans oncoming road signs to alert the driver of any impending speed restriction. The BMW 7-Series is also the world's first car available with a Side View camera system that operates in conjunction with Park Distance Control. The system provides an overview of traffic conditions on the iDrive display so the driver can negotiate a partially obscured junction, leave a car park or drive through a narrow gate with absolute confidence.

The new BMW 7-Series can be specified with the world's most advanced Night Vision system in a production car. BMW was the first manufacturer to fit a Night Vision system to a premium car and it has now upgraded this package to include an individual person recognition system in another world first. A control unit within the system analyses video data of human behaviour as part of the Night Vision camera's reach and can subsequently alert the driver if it detects a human is moving into the path of the vehicle.

Building on the impressive list of innovations, the BMW 7-Series is the first BMW to feature Lane Change Warning combined with Lane Departure Warning. The latter is a system that first appeared on 5 and 6 Series models and uses a camera to monitor road markings. Should the driver start to stray out of lane, a gentle vibration of the steering wheel would provide an alert. However, courtesy of cameras located in the door mirrors, Lane Change Warning adds another tier of driver safety. The two cameras constantly scan the blind spot either side of the vehicle, up to a distance of 60 metres, and alert the driver to the presence of another vehicle with a triangular symbol in the door mirror.

Completing the host of innovations is speed-related Integral Active Steering. A car specified with this optional equipment allows the rear wheels to turn by up to 3º. At slow speeds it is highly manoeuvrable, while at a faster pace it offers enhanced composure and driving dynamics. BMW's flagship car is also the world's first to come with full-scale Internet connectivity.

Baby Sign Language - Yes and No

As a parent, it is likely that you frequently find yourself repeating yes and no to your baby, hoping to teach them and help them understand things that they should be doing and things they should not. American Sign Language can help you to communicate yes and no to your baby more easily (even from across a room) and also help them to better understand you.

To sign no, your pointer and middle finger should snap down on your thumb. To sign yes, shake your fist up and down as if nodding your head. It is also very important to remember to use facial expressions when signing, since sign language is such a visual language. When signing no, it would be most effective to make an angrier or firm face. On the other hand, when signing yes, it would be best to smile and make a happier, more supportive face.

I have found a book that I think would be especially useful for you to read and sign to your baby. It is titled No No Yes Yes by Leslie Patricelli. The only words in the book are yes and no. There is a picture on each page of a baby doing something wrong, and doing something right on the opposite page. For example, one page shows a baby dumping a bowl on his head and “no, no” is written above it. The next page shows a baby eating out of a bowl and the words “yes, yes” is written above it. This is a very visual book on its own, and adding signs will make it even more visual and easier for your baby to understand.

Remember to keep in mind that it is not necessarily important for your child to be able to sign the words, but most important that parents sign them regularly. This will ensure that the child will recognize and understand the signs and know if they are doing something right or wrong.

So, allowing your older child to feel beneficial in the care and nurturing of the new baby will go a good way toward acknowledgment and close bonding.

There is so much instability in the current economy. The writing is on the wall for major changes in the U.S. over the next 10 years, and the global economy will also see major changes.  The old ways of thinking which include investing in mutual funds, stocks, bonds and savings accounts are going to cause 99% of the baby boomers to lose half if not more of their wealth over the next decade.  I know, you are thinking, ya right, that will never happen, this guy is crazy, how could he make a statement like that, I am diversified so it doesn't apply to me, who is this loon.  Well check out what is really going on based on the statistics not based on the media and what Bernanke's next "consumer easing" statement is.

(1) The U.S. is close to 100% debt to Gross Domestic Product.  That is like the average American making $50,000 a year, with $50,000 in debt and $60,000 per year in expenses.  Something has to change in order to sustain.  There are already warnings from China and other countries saying that we are going to lose our triple A credit rating which means interest rates will rise in order for them to want to loan more money to the U.S.

(2) If you look at a chart of U.S. debt spending and the amount of funny money pushed into the economy it would leave you shaking your head and running for cover.  Since 2007 the U.S. debt has increased by 84%.  The only way for the government to pay back the money they owe is to make more funny money which will cause massive inflation and a major weakening of the dollar.  If the U.S. measured inflation like they did in 1982 before they changed the measurement method to make it look better and more easily manipulated, we would be showing inflation at 8% not 1% that Bernanke's likes to tout.

(3)The largest amount of commercial property loans are coming due in 2012 – 2017 and many of these loans will not be able to be refinanced causing another rift in the already unstable U.S. economy.  The banks have new adjusted risk underwriting standards that differ from how they were 5 years ago when these loans were underwritten.  This can be a huge problem if the commercial lenders do not work something out with the owners of the properties.  We could have a huge influx of commercial property going back to the banks.

(4) The largest bond fund, Pimco and Bill Gross, just sold off almost 100% of its U.S. bonds.  Why would they do that?  They are doing it because they see the writing on the wall for rates to be higher in the future.  Over the next 2 years 50% of the governments bonds that are funded primarily from China and Japan are coming due.  Once we hit 100% debt to GDP all of a sudden China and Japan will demand a higher rate of interest in order to buy U.S. debt because the risk is higher.  On top of that Japan is not going to be willing to loan the U.S. much more money because they are trying to raise capital themselves for the earthquake and nuclear crisis they have had.  This is going to put the squeeze on bond rates even further.  Pimco is basically selling so that they can re-invest at higher rates later on.

(5) Food stamps have doubled since 2009 from approximately $25 million in 2009 to $45 million in 2011.  33% of U.S. wages are based on public assistance when in 2000 it was close to 21%.  That is over a 55% increase!  The U.S. is turning the nation into people that are dependent on the U.S. government.  If that is not a scary statistic I don't know what is.

(6) Food and oil prices are skyrocketing.  We have seen massive increases in food prices and oil prices in the last year.   This all shows a weakening of the U.S. dollar.  Last month alone food prices have risen 3.9% and energy prices rose 3.3%.  Can you imagine it costing $20 for a loaf of bread?  Well that is where we are headed if something does not change.  Around the world it already costs over $10 per gallon, except for the U.S., we are still complaining about $4 per gallon.

(7) The Dollar's reign is near and end.  Hedge funds are betting record amounts against the dollar, showing a growing belief that the U.S. dollar has lost its appeal.  The dollar is about to have real rivals in the international currency sphere for the first time in 50 years.  There will soon be two viable alternatives, the Euro and China's yuan.  China is moving quickly to internationalize that yuan and hopes to settle nationwide trade in yuan by 2011.  This coupled with the fear that the U.S. will not be able to stay current on its debt obligations due to the financial crisis is helping these currencies gain momentum even further.

So why do I say that savers are losers?

With massive inflation looming retiree's cash is going to be worth a whole lot less.  Every major country in the world has depleted their currency and when the government took the U.S. dollar off of the gold standard in the 70′s it gave them the license to print money and the U.S. Dollar has been getting devalued ever since.  The dollar is a horrible investment.

So how do you protect yourself?

Invest in assets that rise with inflation like real estate.  Real estate is one of the best investments you can make right now.  You are buying at an all time low.  But do not get caught like everyone else did investing in properties that do not produce positive cash flow and make sure you invest in the right market with the right economic indicators.

For example if you look at the California economy you will see major economic challenges.  The California municipality is way over leveraged and is close to going under.  There is over a $20 Billion gap in the California budget, it's an unfriendly business state, tax rates are rising, it's a hugely volatile real estate market and it's still over valued compared to the median income.

In Memphis Tennessee where we see major economic stability there is job growth with companies like Electrolux and Mitsubishi opening manufacturing plants there.  Job growth along with being able to pick up discount real estate and a high rent to price ratio (meaning more cash flow for your money) you can create a great return on your money.

Investing in passive cash flow investments can be your floatation device when the entire economy is sinking.  Start thinking of ways to protect yourself.  You are either going to lose a large chunk of your savings and retirement or you are going to be on the winning side by taking action and investing to take advantage of the major changes that are coming at us from all directions.  If you sit still you will not be able to retire and will probably be working the rest of your life unless you start to protect yourself now.  It looks like we have less than 6 months or a year to put your money to work until we hit 100% debt to GDP, unless the government stops spending.  Like that is ever going to happen.

Cry Baby the Musical on Broadway Will Soon Become Your Favorite!

Have you watched Universal Production’s classic film by John Waters – “Cry Baby”? If not, then watch Cry Baby the musical on Broadway! Mark Brokaw, the director, and Thomas Meehan, the writer of the book; have once again shown their unmatched talent through this latest musical on the block.

Opened in November, 2007 and performed through December, the musical is all set to entertain its audience in March, 2008. If you’re not an avid theatre fan and hardly watch Broadway shows, you must watch “Cry Baby” this time! There are several reasons for this:

John Waters, who produced the movie “Cry Baby”, has to his credit “Hairspray”, which was a super hit of Broadway and bagged 8 Tony Awards in 2003!

Thomas Meehan has written the book. He’s the same writer who wrote the smashing hits “Hairspray”, “Annie”, “The Producers”, and “Young Frankenstein”!

The musical has been choreographed by Rob Ashford, who won a Tony Award for “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and was nominated for Tony for “The Wedding Singer” as well as “Curtains.”

The musical has lyrics as well as music by David Javerbaum, who has won an Emmy Award, and Adam Schlesinger, who has been nominated for Grammy Award.

Although the plot is the typical bad-guy-loves-good-girl, the story is not at all predictable.

This is not all. Cry Baby musical on Broadway features James Snyder as the lead character of king of the Drapes named Wade “Cry Baby” Walker. This is his spring 2008 debut on Broadway with this role. Starring opposite him in the female lead is Elizabeth Stanley, who plays Cry Baby’s beau, Allison Vernon Williams. The role of Mrs. Vernon Williams, Allison’s grandmother, is played by Harriet Harris. She’s regarded as the imposing dame of comedy.

The other star cast includes Cristen Paige playing the role of Mona; Lacey Kohl playing Wanda; Carly Jibson playing the role of Pepper; Alli Mauzey in the character of Lenora, Chester Grefory II in the role of Dupree. The musical also has Christopher J. Hanke.

The creative group includes Ashley Amber, Cameron Adams, Michael D. Jablonski, Michael Buchanan, Nick Blaemire, Eric Christian, Joanna Glushak, Colin Cunliffe, Marty Lawson, Courtney Laine Mazza, Spencer Liff, Richar Poe, Mayumi Miguel, Peter Atthew Smith, Torrey Ross, Allison Spratt, Eric Sciotto, Stacey Todd Holt, and Charlie Sutton.

Making Homemade Baby Wipes

Wanna save money? Making homemade baby wipes takes just a few minutes of work and save loads of money. Here's the money saving recipe:

Take 1 roll of premium paper towels and cut in half (width wise) using a sharp knife. Cheap, thin paper towels will rip easily. I recommend making your cloth wipes 1/2 a roll at a time, but if you have more than one child or feel like half a roll doesn't last as long as you would like, use both halves.

When making: (1) 1/2 roll

1 cup Water 1 Tablespoon baby wash, shampoo or soap shavings
* 1/2-1 Tablespoon baby oil or olive oil (preferably organic)**

When making: (2) 1/2 rolls

2 cups Water 2 Tablespoon baby wash, shampoo or soap shavings
* 1-2 Tablespoon baby oil or olive oil (preferably organic)**

*Look for chemical-free products. My first choice is Earth Mama Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash and Earth Mama Angel Baby Diaper Rash Soap.

**Again, check the labels! My first choice is Earth Mama Angel Baby Baby Oil.

To make the wipes:

1. Mix all the liquid ingredients together.
2. Put paper towels in a large mixing bowl, and pour the mixed liquid over the top of the paper towels.
3. Let the mixture soak through for approximately 10 minutes.
4. Turn paper towels upside down and allow to sit for another 10 minutes.
5. Pull out the center cardboard core and the wipes will pop up through the middle of the roll.
6. Store your homemade wipes in a gallon-size plastic bag, plastic storage container with a lid, or re-use an old disposable wipes container.
